Good Design is Holistic

As a diverse designer and project manager of 18 years, Dave Mojica has had the privilege of focusing on affordable housing design for the majority of the past decade. He led the design teams for Metro’s first two bonded housing projects, Viewfinder and The Mary Ann, as well as Salem’s largest community for all ages, Mahonia Crossing. Focusing on this type of work has given him the opportunity to collaborate with developers who have long-term commitments to community building, and to funding agencies, policy makers, multiple local jurisdictions, and city planners.

He has dedicated his career to the creation of meaningful places, shaping design culture at organizations, and advocating for good design across all project typologies. Good design is a holistic process where Architecture, Art, Innovation, and culture come together. Dave shares his knowledge and continually learns from the broader design community through volunteer efforts with the AIA and teaching at the University of Oregon.

Working with Dave

“Dave is a responsive, creative collaborator that puts people—clients, end users, community—first in his work. He navigates complexities, like site, schedule, and funding constraints, thoughtfully, offering experienced solutions within the framework of the overall project goals. We trust that when Dave is our architectural lead, the full scope of the vision is being considered as the design is taking shape.

Community Development Partners
